Our Process For Refinishing Cabinets.
It’s rare to find a place in your home that can’t be brought to life with a little paint! This is definitely true with kitchen cabinets!
The kitchen is often the heartbeat of the house. It’s where you gather to bake cookies with your grandkids and socialize with your friends. It’s the meeting place after a long work day, and the tone is set each morning when you turn on the light and start the coffee pot. We are never surprised when people want to rejuvenate this space as it is often the most occupied room of the house! However, because it’s a space that is used so frequently, customers often ask “What will the process be like?”
Refinishing cabinets involves a lot of intricate steps. Let’s start with what is expected of the client before we even hit the scene. Ideally, the client will have emptied all their cabinets in preparation for their fresh coat. We ask that the client removes all items from the countertops and moves dining tables and/or bar stools a good 6ft away from the kitchen area. If items are too heavy or space is an issue, we are happy to help!
Now we’re up! We pride ourselves in having a crew that is skilled and patient enough to complete a project like this. One of the most important factors, and something that comes as a surprise to clients and those unfamiliar with cabinetry painting, is a controlled environment in regards to temperature. As we begin, we very precisely label cabinets and drawers to ensure they return to their proper home after painting is complete. We clean and sand down each cabinet thoroughly and often several times. Then we use premium paint that marries well with the texture of the cabinets! Cabinet painting is one of the most precise and methodical projects we do. Within every step, are numerous factors that play into its completion. The finished product is well worth the time invested and we love to see our customers experience the journey with us! They are blown away at how strategic and artistic the process is and we often hear a sigh of relief that they didn't attempt to tackle it themselves. We love when customers can watch the process and understand why it takes a collaborative and forbearing team of painters to produce these kind of results. Here at Impact, we are exactly that!
